 Recycling Centers in the CSRA:

Richmond County

Richmond County operates drop-off centers at the following Fire Stations:

  • Central Ave.
  • Daniel Village
  • Richmond Hill
  • Walton Way
  • Old Waynesboro Rd.
  • Windsor Springs

These centers take clear glass, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, and aluminum cans. (NOTE: Not all drop-off centers will take all materials listed.)

North Augusta Material Recovery Facility (MRF)

Contact Person: Tom Veaser (441-4297)

Hours: 7:30-4:30 Monday through Friday (No materials accepted after hours)

Directions: Take I-20 to 1st South Carolina exit. (Martintown Rd.) Take Martintown Rd. toward North Augusta. Go about 4.4 miles. Pass Breckenridge Village on the left. Turn left onto Buena Vista then immediately left again onto Carolina Springs. After 1.4 miles take a right onto Clay Pit Rd. The facility is at the end of Clay Pit Rd. (about 0.4 miles)

North Augusta MRF takes:

  • Brown, clear, or green glass (must be sorted by color)
  • Aluminum cans
  • Steel cans
  • HDPE plastic (#2 recycling symbol, e.g. milk jugs)
  • PETE plastic (#1 recycling symbol, e.g. soda bottles)
  • Cardboard
  • Newspaper
  • Magazines
  • Phone books
  • White office paper
  • Motor oil
  • Transmission oil
  • Brake fluid
  • Plastic motor oil containers
  • Oil filters

All materials need to be sorted and placed in the appropriate containers. Ask for help if you don't see the container you are looking for. Not all containers are marked.

Note 1: North Augusta operates a curbside blue bag program. Residents place recyclables in blue bags (unsorted). The contents of these bags are sorted at the North Augusta MRF by prison labor.

Note 2: As long as you are just bringing recyclables and not garbage you are welcome to use this facility whether you are a resident of North Augusta or not.
