We need your participation!
Outings are an important part of the Sierra Club program, and we encourage all of you to participate. We have some very good outings leaders and are anticipating training more. We need to know what kinds of outings you want so that we can plan those kinds and get significant numbers of you to participate. Let us know what you want and we will plan things according to the demand.

Outings Trip Rating System: Hikes and canoe trips are rated according to distance-pace-elevation change.
- Distance is the trip length in statue miles.
- Pace is as follows: S=Slow (1-2 mph). M=Medium (2-3 mph). F=Fast (more than 3 mph).
- Elevation change is the total change (both up and down) for the trip, in hundreds of feet (not used for flatwater canoe trips). Example: 8-M-40 describes a hike of 8 miles at a medium pace involving an elevation change of 4000 feet.
For more information about this system, ask an outings leader, or go to the Georgia Chapter's Ratings page for a detailed explanation.
