2007 ICO Fundraising: REI Gift-Wrap

Last Call for Volunteers!!!

Dear Sierra Club Inner City Outings volunteers and supporters, it's almost time to put on your Santa hats and get busy wrapping gifts!

This year we will be wrapping gifts at these locations:

REI Perimeter Store (http://www.rei.com/stores/perimeter/)
REI I-85/Atlanta Store (http://www.rei.com/stores/atlanta/)

on the weekends of December 15-16 and December 21-23.

With volunteers' help last year, ICO raised over $3,800, all of which went directly to taking inner city youth on outdoor adventures. We can take 150 plus kids out into the woods during the year with this funding.

If you are interested in helping ICO with this year's funding, getting these kids outdoors and getting into the holiday spirit, please volunteer for one of the open wrapping shifts below by contacting us with the location and shift you would be interested in.

Open Wrapping Shifts:

(Note: The bolded ones below are where we currently have no volunteers.)

Perimeter store:

December 21 from 2-6 and 6-9
December 22nd from 2-6
December 23 from 11-2 and 2-6

I-85 Store:

December 15 from 2-6 and 6-9
December 16 from 2-6
December 21 from 10-2, 2-6 and 6-9
December 22 from 2-6 and 6-9
December 23 from 11-2 and 2-6

Sierra Club Inner City Outings is a community outreach program of the Sierra Club that provides low-income, inner city youth with trips into the wilderness. Atlanta ICO volunteers take children from Brookhaven and Warren Boys & Girls Clubs, Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) School, Cool Girls Inc. and John Hope Elementary Schools on outdoor adventures to learn about nature and to increase their environmental awareness, interpersonal skills and self-esteem.
