Quorum: Present

Agenda: Agreed upon agenda used.

Minutes: The January 2001 minutes were distributed. The minutes were accepted by acclamation.

Chair: Alan brought the Sierra Club blue-sheets for updating for the 2001 positions in the Atlanta Group. Ted Jackson is to be Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Group Delegate to Chapter, Webmaster. Herb Bastin will be Outings Co-chair, Secretary, Computer Committee Chair, Chapter Delegate alternate. Mike Kenton agreed to be Conservation Chair. Karen Hoover will be Newsletter Editor, Program Chair, and Volunteer Coordinator. Mark Alexander will be designated as Forest Issues; Janet Westervelt will continue as Clean Water contact; Keith Parsons will be named as Marine Issues contact. Alan Toney will continue as Chair and Political contact.

Vice Chair: Ted discussed the first results from the Atlanta Group survey given out at the January meeting. The survey is now on the Atlanta Group website and will be in the next issue of the Georgia Sierran.

Treasurer: There is $5,300 in the checking account. Pax World Fund investments has a balance of $7,540. Total assets of about $13,100. An extra $1,000 was agreed to be given to the Georgia Chapter as a one-time payment for newsletter expenses. Herb needs to conduct an inventory of the store before financial records can be audited.

Conservtn: The new Conservation Chair should hook up with the Centennial Group's conservation group to learn how to effectively conduct conservation activities within a group. The Centennial Group is doing conservation projects within Atlanta Group's area.

AdoptStream: No report.

Legislative: No report.

Outings: No report.

One Club: Herb did a conservation / One Club outing to Rabun Bald with 9 people. Most had written letters before the hike. There wasn't an expert to join Herb on the hike, but Herb copied a map and a page from Georgia Mountain Treasures. Herb is organizing information for 15 outings and related conservation issues to be put into a book and a website. Herb will try to contact Claudette Metz to help with developing the website. Herb's target for completing this project is April 1.

Membership: No report, except there have been new members attending Atlanta Group meetings.

Store: Herb will sell 2001 Calendars at $7 each.

Web Page: Ted reported that the web site has the Survey online.

Program: March's program will be the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. For April, Kirpal Singh (Sprawl campaign) will show a video on Atlanta's bad air. May's program will showcase Greg Ramsey of Common Habitation communities. Chris Adams will show photos of the Grand Canyon in June. The summer picnic will be in July.

Newsletter: The next deadline is early February. Erin wants to have Outings as a focus for the next issue.

Specl Events: Need to plan for the special events in the spring (Dogwood Festival - 2nd weekend in April, Inman Park Festival - 4th weekend in April). The canopy we bought is still at the Chapter office.

New Items: The location of the next Atlanta Group ExCom meeting will be at Karen's house starting at 7:00 pm.
