Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation Report September 2000

Fulton County Soil and Water District recently reviewed the City of Alpharetta's program.  We found a number of problems and gave them three months to make necessary improvements.

The City of Atlanta has finally started to make some progress in the area of enforcement.  They have hired new staff and vowed to make developers obey the law.  They still have a long way to go but we hope they have finally turned the corner.

I must also report that all of the environmentally friendly Soil and Water Supervisors, including Dell MacGregor in DeKalb County and yours truly in Fulton County, have developer opposition.  We would appreciate your taking the time to vote for us.  If not, the developers are in control of your Soil and Water Districts.  The Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District election will be held on September 26, 2000.  Call Alan Toney, 770-350-9887, for directions and details.
